Springbank Distillery

Springbank's defining feature is not one isolated piece of equipment but a completely integrated, manually controlled production system. Floor malting, variable peat regimes, long wooden-washback fermentation and three-still distillation allow one site to create three materially different spirit styles, with the direct-fired wash still and 2.5-times distillation central to Springbank itself. On-site maturation and bottling preserve continuity between spirit production, cask development and finished whisky.

Springbank is one of the rare distilleries where the entire whisky journey still happens under one roof, from floor malting to bottling. The same hardware is deliberately used in different ways to make Springbank, Longrow and Hazelburn, changing peat levels and distillation regimes rather than treating them as separate distilleries. For a whisky drinker, that makes Springbank a remarkable demonstration of how process choices can reshape spirit character before maturation even begins.
