Ardmore's peated malt gives the new make a persistent wood-smoke backbone unusual for a mainland Highland malt. Its relatively broad still geometry and descending lyne arms favour body, while the historic move from direct firing to engineered steam coils was designed to retain weight in the spirit. Bourbon-led maturation keeps smoke, orchard fruit and malt at the centre rather than letting heavy cask seasoning dominate.

Ardmore offers a distinctly Highland take on peat: smoky, malty and weighty rather than overtly medicinal. The distillery's broad-necked stills and downward lyne arms help preserve texture, while bourbon oak gives the spirit room to show its apple, cereal and wood-smoke character. It is a useful reference point for customers who enjoy peat but want something different from the classic Islay profile.
